Basic Photography
by: Kristin Breeden
Hey everyone, here
are a few tips on taking a picture.
#1 Remember
Photography is not just about people.
#2 A picture can be
as simple as taking a picture of your own window blinds to as complex as taking
a photo of a friend and having them think it’s ok instead of hearing,
“Oh, No don’t show them that picture I hate how I look in that one.
Here are some Examples.)

#3 Try and keep the
backdrop or background simple, like in the last photo the backdrop is a tree,
it’s soled and it fills the frame of the picture from top to bottom.
Other examples of simplicity and simple backdrops are.

#3 Continued: the
above pictures have no distractions in them and there is only one focus point
in each picture and that focus points the object in the picture. now this
won’t be true for all pictures.
#4 Avoid objects in
the exact center. Divide the canvas in thirds, vertically and horizontally,
placing the subject to the left or right of the middle square with room to
move. EX)

#5 This is an
S-curve in the picture that leads the eye to a specific subject to the end of
the path. Ex)

#6 Lines that are
artistically interesting to look at and are the main subject of the picture.

#7 Framing has
something in the foreground to frame the subject, and gives depth of field to
the picture. In the example the framing is the out of focus leaves and branch.

#8 Remember almost
all these rules can be used to take pictures of people or objects some rules
are more for one picture then another but there all I hope useful tips in
tacking a photo.
Hear are a few
other photos that might help you decide what kind of photos you want to take.
