Welcome to Japanese Paradise

(Click on the 50 best sushi roll links to get to Google! Type in Japanese restaurants in Windsor ca, and enjoy)

In this web page I hope to inspire you to endeavor into the world of sushi. Now, before you go screaming away in fright at the idea of raw fish on your pallet, take a moment to realize that there is

so much more to this delicious food.

Now if you are first-timer, like myself only 6 months ago, I highly recommend Ume restaurant in Windsor. You will take the first Windsor exit, head left, go through the stoplight, and you will see it on your left, it is easy to miss-so look carefully. When you walk in you may feel overwhelmed with your decision to try something new, relax; sit down…..After being handed a menu you will be handed hot hand towels to wash up with, go ahead and smell them-they smell good. I suggest on your first run you order a sunomono to start, all that means is a cucumber salad. It is delicious, they mix in king crab meat and a sesame-vinegar type dressing. For an appetizer type dish I suggest the prawn tempura. This plate will consist of lightly battered, deep fried, vegetable and prawns. It will come with a sauce similar to soy, use it, you will love it! Now if you still have room, try a roll!

The best roll I have tried at this restaurant is the called the carburetor roll. This is a perfect roll for a first timer because nothing is raw. Inside this roll you will find prawn tempura(fried prawn), avocado, and crab. You will receive a side of wasabi(that green ball of stuff-SPICY) and ginger. Mix a very small amount with some soy sauce- start off small and work up to your level of hot! Put a piece of ginger on your roll, dip in this sauce, and then take it all in one bite………You have an incredible experience happening in your mouth now, soft, crunchy……sooo good!!! You have officially entered the world of sushi- now go venture out and try new things. A couple of other restaurants I recommend are JO-JO’s on fourth street in Santa Rosa, and Osake-O’s in Healdsburg(located next to the goodwill and Kragen), and boat House Sushi in Rohnert Park. If you find any others email me empstu123@yahoo.com, I look forward to hearing of your adventures!
