I
started making these quilts just for fun. Until one day I made one for my
friend Di. Here is a picture of the
quilt that I made for her birthday.
I had a lot of her author friends sign it for her, so when she is
reading on a cold night
she can
snuggle under it and enjoy both. Book and quilt.
This
quilt got me to thinking since I know quite a few of these authors I could make
them for Charities, some with signed blocks and some
not. So a friend of mine does all the machine quilting on them. I have just
finished one for a charity: Write 4 Hope. It will be auctioned off on Oct. 8,
2006 in
I am
hoping that some of the authors and other Charities would like to have a quilt
made for their own raffle and auctions. In the future I would like to add some
other fun things like mesh and cloth bags and beaded ornaments for
Christmas. I am currently working
on a quilt for Juvenile Diabetes that is going to be auctioned off in May 2006 http://www.brendanovak.com/diabetes.htlm.
