Being a student myself at Empire College, I know how tiresome studying can be. Even the best students taking classes that really interest them need a break from all their hard work. Students who are really struggling with some of their classes, putting in long hard hours trying to learn new complicated things, especially need to get up and get out to clear their heads once in awhile. But it is often difficult to find things to do when you have little or no money left over to go out and enjoy life.

This is especially true for students who have children of all ages. Being a grandmother of three active, fun loving, and easily bored young children, I have tried to find as many free, or very cheap, things to do with them whenever I can.

Kids Eat Free Eating out can be very expensive for families with young children, those “happy” meals can really add up! This link will take you to a wonderful site that not only shows you where kids eat for free, but they also list Farmers Markets, consignment, and thrift stores too! Plus they have coupon deals!

Regional Parks Do you just love the outdoors: hiking, kayaking, swimming, horseback riding, or playing games with your friends such as soccer, baseball, football, basketball, and tennis? But which park is the best? This site gives you all the information you need including hours, conditions, and fees.

Bay Area Playground Review One of my favorite things to do with my grandchildren is simply take them to different playgrounds. This site has some wonderful parks all over the Bay Area you might want to consider if you are out of town. To find playgrounds in your own neighborhood you can Google: playgrounds and the name of the city. Here I did: Playgrounds "Rohnert Park."

My best advice for those on a budget or even just looking to save money is use COUPONS! Whenever I find something or some place I would like to check out, I always Google the name of the place or event along with the word coupon. You will be amazed at how many places have coupon deals.
